NORTHLAND LABORATORIES HAS BEEN in THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY SINCE 1993.
We started out in 1993 with a core group of employees, one client and one mission: to be the premier testing laboratory servicing the United States food industry. Our operations today include locations in Illinois and Wisconsin, with customers all over the United States. Here is how we have evolved for the past twenty plus years.
1993: Sci-Tek Laboratories started in Northbrook, Illinois
Nutritional Labeling and Education Act of 1993
1994: HACCP is established for meat and poultry industries
1995: Sci-Tek Laboratories acquires Northland Food Laboratories (formerly Dairilab Services, established in 1949) in Wisconsin and adopts the Northland Laboratories name
2002: Northland Laboratories expands into providing Sensory Services
2003: eAccess System (remote access for clients to view results) is introduced, one of the first available for the food industry
2006: trans Fat requirements put into effect for Nutrition Labels
2010: Northland Laboratories achieves ISO 17025 Accreditation
Affordable Care Act signed into law requiring restaurant chains and vending machines to provide nutrition data.
2011: Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) of 2010 is signed into law. Largest overhaul in nation’s food safety system in over 70 years.
2016: Green Bay, Wisconsin facility completes expansion.
2017: Northland Laboratories becomes part of the Matrix Sciences Inc. family.
Northland Laboratories moves into state-of-the-art food science center in Mount Prospect, Illinois
